At Start the Cycle we believe that being able to ride a bike is a special rite of passage that all kids should have the opportunity to experience. Access to a bike gives kids the ability to explore their neighbourhoods and be active, and provides them with a sense of independence. Not only is biking a fun and healthy pastime, but it’s one that they will never outgrow and that teaches them about the benefits of sustainable transportation. The goal of Start the Cycle is to provide access to bicycles for every child in Hamilton who is in need, but we can’t do it alone - please give today and help kids play!

To access a bicycle from a Bike Library, a user:

Can check out the selection of bikes through your local community hub or library’s catalogue, offered in a range of sizes

If you are a first time rider under 18 years old you will need to have a parent or guardian complete a liability waiver

Find your bike, unlock and Go! Use the bike anywhere from 24 - 48 hours.

When your bike is due - Return the helmet and key back to the Bike Library during operational hours

Check out the bikes as often as you need!
